We’re passionate about learning and development for all, and not just the privileged folk. We’ve been honoured to have worked with people of diverse backgrounds across SE Asia, Europe and Australia, coaching people in areas such as Government organisations, pharmaceutical, digital and IT, aesthetics, hospitality, finance, medical devices and corporate services.
All generations 18-65+ of the workforce are equally enjoying exposure to self-development and team upskilling. We’ve marvelled at the eagerness of a new wave of young people, keen to know the secrets of Strengths to hasten career progression.

A favourite story regarding a complete 180-degree flip, was where we started with a few cynics, who had reluctantly turned up to their Strengths Team workshop, as part of their manager’s direction. From initially sitting with crossed arms and frowns at the kick-off, these participants were sharing personal awareness and future goals with their colleagues at the end of our learning together! To boot, two weeks later, the Director reported back that these individuals had quietly commented on the value they have taken forward with Strengths!

Why use Gallup CliftonStrengths as a development tool?

We’ve worked from within and with Corporate industries and Government organisations, in Senior Learning Consulting, since 2017, including over two decades in the highly regulated Pharmaceutical industry. For this reason, it was imperative when our team selected a development tool, that it be rigorous with a research foundation.

Gallup CliftonStrengths programme has 60 yrs plus of evidence behind it and is originally built on the principles of positive psychology by Don Clifton.

The data is clear:

Many people managers will be familiar with the Situational Leadership programme, described by us as “life changing” for assessing the direction and support required of managers for their team, in a simple and practical manner.

For your Personal Coaching & Development Plans?

As a people manager and coach, my delight has always been in facilitating an individual’s ability to become aware of their incredible talents, and partner with them, to land the vision of success they set for themselves.

I can remember, before exposure to CliftonStrengths, managing a “powerhouse” Sales representative who I would hazard a guess now, as an experienced Strengths coach, is likely “off the charts” in executing and influencing themes. We worked together over 12 months to help her dig into her talents and collaborate with others (relationship building). We co-designed a plan using my No.1 and 2 strengths as a coach which are Strategic (talent for creating alternative pathways, can spot relevant patterns and how to proceed) and Ideation (fascination with ideas and can find connections between concepts).

Needless to say, once she’d identified her goal – to become “Rep of the year” (amongst a salesforce of approximately 100+), we brainstormed ideas and strategies that formulated her plan, which she executed with perfection. I describe her as this exquisite “Energiser bunny”!!! Wow – did I enjoy cheering her on!!! I had tears when she proudly and humbly achieved her visions of success, alongside her sensational buddies, by accepting the award at the Annual Sales Conference Gala night.

These days, I would have my team of 8 all complete their individual CliftonStrengths 34 Reports, which would give my team a language to articulate their powers, and how we could match them up with others. Our relationships would develop quicker, and we’d be replicating the “Rep of Year” story elsewhere.

For my recent clients, our 1:1 coaching has focused on growing their business. For some it has been unpacking their talents and harnessing them in their role as leader; for others, it has been conflict management and relationships, or how to carve out social and leisure time and maximise it! The motivations are many and differ. Although, the one message I share that is consistent, is that it’s my belief that the role of a coach is to be an exceptional listener and independent support, who can help you tap into what your best option is at a particular date and time. Afterall, nobody knows you, like you. And yes, I will be high-fiving and clapping with you, to celebrate what you achieve at Cultivate capabilities in our 1:1 coaching.
